How much does it cost to be listed in the directory?

This directory is 100% free for all businesses, organisations, groups and individuals who wish to be listed here.

We do not make any charges of any kind, and should any type of payment be offered, it will be politely refused.

Why hasn't my Elgin based site been included?

a) We are maybe unaware of it. Please email or tweet us the web address (URL) and we will see what we can do.

b) When we visited the site we found it to be technically unstable and/or infected with a virus/malware.

c) We believe the content of the site was in some way inappropriate for this directory.

Why hasn't my non-Elgin based site been included?

InElgin.com is an online directory (almost) exclusively for businesses, organisations, groups and individuals with a presence in Elgin and New Elgin (IV30 postcodes).

We do however make exceptions for the small communities immediately surrounding Elgin. For business in Moray which provide services to the people of Elgin. And for national organisation which also provide such services.

Why has my site been placed in wrong category?

a) We may have simply misplaced it, or misunderstood the nature of your business. Please let us know in which category you would like it placed, and we will look into it.

Our aim is to place links in categories that the owners of the site, visitors to InElgin.com and ourselves find the most appropriate. Should there be disagreement on this, we will default to where we would think the average visitor to InElgin.com would expect to find the link.

b) We base the category on the majority of the content of a site. If a site contains a variety of content it may be included in multiple categories.

How do I remove our site from the directory?

We hope that this situation never arises, and will do our best to avoid it. But site owners certainly have the right to have their link removed at any time, should they so wish. Simply contact us from an identifiable email or twitter account and we will remove your entry as soon as possible.

How do I request the removal of someone else's site?

If anyone is aware of say a business which is no longer trading, or which has provably misleading information on their website, then please let us know, and we will remove them from this site as soon as possible.
